The True Essence of Christmas

"The True Essence of Christmas"

It's that time of year again. December has come and with it all the joys of Christmas. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? Is it the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, turkey dinners with family and friends, snow in the yard, stockings hanging in the living room, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass us in the streets? Is this really Christmas?
For many people, Christmas is a time of sorrow. They don't have the extra money to buy presents for their children, family, and friends. Many are saddened at Christmastime when they think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for various reasons.
Christmas can be a season of great joy. It is a time of God showing His great love for us. It can be a time of healing and renewed strength. You see, Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born. His birth brought great joy to the world. Shepherds, wise men, and angels all shared in the excitement of knowing about this great event. They knew this was no ordinary baby. The prophets had told of His coming hundreds of years before. The star stopped over Bethlehem just to mark the way for those who were looking for this special child.
Christmas is best enjoyed when it isn't centered on decorations, gifts, or festivities, but when love is at its core. Love is the essence of Christmas. Christmas should mean taking quality time with your family and friends. It's about cherishing and celebrating the love you share.

CLIMATE CHANGE

"CLIMATE CHANGE"

Climate change. A two-word which is not new to us people/ humans. Climate change is the change of weather condition to a certain region due to global warming.
Pollution, devastating and thinning of the ozone layer, natural disasters, abnormal weather changes and more. Earth is dying because of us. This things won't happen, it's just because we cut down trees, trash our waste around/ everywhere, don not conserve energy, etc. We are the stewards of God's creation. We should be the one who will take good care of Mother Earth. We made this problem worst, and that means we should be the one who'll fix it.
If Earth slowly dies, what will happen to us? What will happen or were to live if Earth is gone? There is no Planet B.
If we help one another to stop this climate, a big relieve for everybody and Earth. Love and protect the surroundings and save the endangered animals will do. Destroying Earth is like destroying and killing ourselves.
We can make a big change. A change for the better. If we want to live long and gay on earth, love, care and help hand to hand together.

"OUTPOURING HEARTS AND MINDS
THROUGH ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
 AND LITERACY"

Everybody knows that November is the NATIONAL READING MONTH of the year. That is why the Department of Education celebrates this said program/ activity. And this year's theme is "Outpouring Hearts and Minds Through English Proficiency and Literacy."
At our school, Ilocos Sur National High School also celebrated to this program.           But these are not just activities to join with, for these will help students mold and enhance their English, on different ways. In our daily lives, as we use and embrace English Proficiency and Literacy, life would not be boring. As we outpour our hearts and minds through English, it would be a great honor and pleasure for writers. Writers who expresses and shares their ideas to people.
The more we warmth we give to art of works in English with our hearts and minds, the more higher excellence and dream are to achieve. Have a reading! :)

EQUAL RIGHTS, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

EQUAL RIGHTS, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

Ever since the day Earth was created, there is no equality, this maybe in rights nor in opportunities.
In our daily life, especially in today's generation, there is this they call "DISCRIMINATION." NO equality among men and women.
Going back to the early days or era, men has "more" on the rights in living. They even say that laws are made for men. Women are just behind them. That is why women before are likely abused. There were lots of crimes happening to women, even childrens. But now, there is this Republic Act or law that states "GENDER AWARENESS." EQUALITY. Women can now even or balance men's rights, for also jobs. What can men do, women can also do.
As time changes, life also changes. Women are now free and unabused. They have their free will to do anything they want as long as it's for good. But freedom of women must have it's limitation, so that they will be not abused or killed. Men can still have their rights. Now, laws are made for women. Women who are cornered nor unfreed to their rights.
Now, having equal rights or gender awareness comes to have equality in opportunities for men and women.

REFLECTION

 REFLECTION

Mid-October comes. Another page is about to unfold again. A new chapter will be opening in the next days. But the question is, did |I improved? Did I done something wrong? Am I ready for the next challenges and regrets?
I took and reviewed some few flashbacks during the 2nd grading period. I learned alot  from our subject, especially HTML TAGS and BLOGGING. There were many activities that we did during the period. Sometimes, I do have difficulties in these activities for I delay passing it. I do copy and write in my notebook, but I read them seldom, causing for me to cheat during tests/quizzes. Sometimes, we excuse ourselves for some competitions to join, but tons of assignments/ works shall be passed or done after it.
Back to the present, I had realized that I became more lazy doing my school requirements than the 1st grading. But, there's still 3rd and 4th grading, meaning I still have 2 more chances to change everything. Well wish me luck next grading!!! God Bless me!!

INTRAMURALS

"INTRAMURAL'S"

People nowadays are fat, chubby, weak and unhealthy. That is why there are these organizations of cities, provinces and even at schools, that promotes a subject M.A.P.E.H. Which composes  music, arts, physical education and health. Especially in physical education, it helps us to be physically fit and healthy in ourselves and to our environment. But M.A.P.E.H. would be none of its sense if there is no sports.
Sports helps us in building up our skills and abilities in such games. It maybe in strength of the body or the power of the mind. It also developes our values, in sportsmanship and teamwork.
In our school, Ilocos Sur National High School, the M.A.P.E.H. Club conducted a sports festival with games to challenge all students to use their talents/skills/abilities in sports. THE INTRAMURALS. Last September 18, 2014, the INTRAMURALS started, with the theme, "Sustaining Excellence and Teamwork through Sports and Dancing." There were many students joined the said celebration. Students wearing green, yellow, blue and red with different sports wear. At the second day of the intrams, typhoon Mario came. So, the celebration has extended and continued after. There were winners and there were losers.
But, we should never forget to be physically fit and healthy, we maybe an athlete or not. Stay healthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

My Teacher, My hero

My Teacher, My hero

Do you know that heroes don't always dress in a superhero suit?A hero can wear anything and they can be as simple as we are.Everyone can be a hero, not necessarily save lives but we can be heroes on our own way.But did you know that heroes are hard to find?I found my hero and she is a teacher.

When talking about our own teachers and mentors, anyone would be glad to thank them, especially those who are successful and those who learned a great lesson from them. But, are teachers really that great? Aren’t they just a bunch of people teaching everyday? The people who are always giving a lot of homeworks and projects, making our life hard?

Teachers are great. They teach us in all ways they could. They guide us through different challenges. They act as light when we’re on darkness. They’re affection strengthens students. They’re patience are unbelievable. For even though, we, students are acting childishly, they forgive us. They’re like a second mom to us. And especially, they love us like a true mother.

My teacher is a hero because she teaches me a lot.She is supportive and very sincere. She is very nice and fun to be with.Sometimes she is like my mom because she is someone who can understand me.She is like a star in the night guiding my way not to be lost and became a better person. She always teaches us a good moral lesson.Like a hero,my teacher always helps me whenever i have problems in our subject especially in Math and she will sincerely help me with no doubt.A hero is someone who helps people.
For me,she is the best teacher that I ever had. When we're acting for the role, when I was elementary and I was too shy that time. She hugged and comforted me and she said that you can do it.For me, she is the only teacher who hugged me just to help me relax. And even though I said I can't and I don't have any experience regarding that contest but still she always encouraged me. That is the best thing that my teacher has.She pulls her students up and helps them rise whenever they are down. I admire her for that. I know that being a teacher is really hard because you will always meet people with different faces and attitudes that can really make you tired. Though that is her case, she always give her leisure time to us just to have conversation and tell some stories with her on many things. She is really a positive person. She is so friendly not only with me but to other's also. She always smile and laugh whenever we have jokes to tell. She may not be like those superheroes on television who have super powers, but for me she is not only a superhero but a friend that can be trusted. She will always be my superhero and she will always be the best teacher in the world no matter what.

All teachers can be a hero if they have determination, patience, courage and dedication to work that can really inspire students. A hero is not only famous and seen on television because you can be a hero on your simple way.

             My teacher, My Hero!!!!!!!!!!!

Science Month Celebration

Immunation: Arming Science Clubbers with
Healthful Defences Through
National Wellness.

As the month of August comes, Science month celebration is already coming. There are different activities and contests to join. These activities and contests can be participated by all students of Ilocos Sur National High School. This years theme of celebrating Science Month is "Immunation: Arming Science Clubbers with Healthful Defences through National Wellness"
Science clubbers are not just only the people who are part of the organization or the leaders. All of us are called Science Clubbers. We will be arming, help, and work together with our healthful  defences through our lives and to build/ through National Wellness. But what are these healthful defences are taking about.
We make them. How? Being a clean and green is. This solution answers in helping in fighting climate change that is dangerous to Earth's condition. We must also recycle to reduce pollution's, it might be in air, water or in land. And lastly, we must join organizations, like this, to show our love to Earth and care to him. But we must be healthy and ready to face this things. And as we help one another, together, we will lead through a National Wellness.

Modern Hero

Heroes in Life

Everyone needs a hero. A hero that could help everyone in their problems. A hero that could rescue you from troubles and helps you to overcome your fears. For me, Jesus is a hero. He rescued/ sacrificed his life to save us from our sins.

Batman. Superman. Wonder Woman. Thor. Hulk. Iron Man. These are some of the famous heroes that we know. But these heroes aren't real. They're just story-made for children's to believe. Nowadays, heroes are now described as persons who has both love and power. Today's heroes don't need mask, cape, boots, armors, big muscles, and supernatural powers. Everyone can be a hero. It maybe a girl or a boy or maybe a young or an old. I can say that I'm also a hero. Even simple/ little things could make us or turned as a real hero.
Being a hero means alot. Love, willingness to help and sacrificed something for others. Power, to make everyone safe and sound. A hero is measured by his/her greatness. Thus, HEROES really do exist, and those heroes are US.

WIKA NG PAGKAKAISA

Isang Salita, Isang Lahi, Isang Bansa

Lumaban tayo at tayo'y nagtagumpay.

REFLECTION

                                                                       REFLECTION

As the month of August or first week of August comes, first grading period is already over. Second grading period enters. New topics will be discussed and new challenges to be faced. But that doesn't mean we need to forget or ignore our past lessons.
I, actually, had a lot of experiences and reflections before, during and after the first grading period. At first, I was an idiot or a little bit confused on "BLOGS". Because I don't often open my Google account and discover more about it. Another is, I was harden to spell or correct my grammar in posting new blogs, because underlined-red-marks will appear as an error or it would be incorrect. I would get even mad if the internet crashes or fails, making my work unfinished. But these things thought me a lot. I should be more attentive and listen to the teacher and pass tasks or requirements on time.
I could reflect these in my everyday life. Like being more "maagap" in doing my works. And also to be more aware on what's happening or information's across the world or the universe.

State of the Nation Address

State of the Nation Address

Another State of the Nation Address has been gratefully and successfully declared by our dear Mr. President, Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III, last July 28, 2014 at the Batasang Pambansa Complex, Quezon City, Philippines.
He talked about the country’s economy, defenses, public works, education, and many more. He also said or mentioned about the Philippines ex-controversial issue, Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP). He also admit in some major problems like corruption. He lessen his mention on the issue on helping the Tacloban victims because of the super typhoon Yolanda. He just mentioned and said his works and projects and the countries improvements.

But still, I wish and expect more from him with his 2 years more before the elections in 2016, more projects and fulfillment to be worked and be successful in the next 2 years.

Nutrition Month Celebration 2014

"Kalamidad paghandaan, Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan."
Our country Philippines is still suffering from poverty and scarcity. That is why we are not ready for unexpected calamities, for some of our fellow Filipino men are malnourished and weak.
The government of the Republic of the Philippines is now planning and acting to prevent poverty, scarcity and malnutrition. But, we Filipino men, should also act now to fight and prevent calamity.
We should eat fruits and vegetables everyday, for us to be always active and strong in our work. We must eat at least 3 meals a day, to prevent from malnutrition and from sickness. We should also drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday. We must prevent also junk foods and soft drinks for us to be healthy.
These are just simple and basic ways to prevent malnourishment and hunger. For these helps us to  be ready and prepared from sudden and unexpected calamities.

Help Us Mr. President

                                                          Republic of the Philippines
                                                                   Malacanang Palace

                                                                    Manila, Philippines

Mr. Benigno Simeon Aquino III
President
Philippines

Dear Sir,

       Good day to you sir!
In this letter, I would like to  say some few words of my concerns that I have noticed during your today's administration as the President of the Republic of the Philippines.
Pork Barrel Scam, where Janet Napoles y Lim roles as the queen. It's been almost 2 years of finding people who are still involved in the said scam and recollecting back money that has been stolen from the government and seeking solutions to solve this big problem of our country. But ever since Pork Barrel scam became an issue, everybody or almost all the citizenry are focused to it.
Now, Mr. President, please don't forget the other important issues affecting the lives of the Filipino's. Like the people of Tacloban City who where the victims of the super typhoon Yolanda.
We will appreciate this of you and you will be regarded by, as one of the best President, if not, the best in the Philippines.

Sincerely your's,
MARIE CRIZEL P. RAGUINDIN
